At TREE GUM, we promote a healthy, balanced and sustainable lifestyle. Of course, this includes awareness of our environment and ourselves. That's why we support numerous events throughout the year. One of them is the Pink Ribbon Walk in Zurich, on 25 September 2022.
In 2007, the first Pink Ribbon awareness campaign was launched in Switzerland - at that time, the pink ribbon as a symbol for breast cancer was hardly known among the Swiss population. Various subjects with prominent Swiss ambassadors sensitized the population and drew attention to the early detection of breast cancer, because breast cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. In Switzerland, an average of 6,300 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and more than 1,400 women die from it. The goal of Pink Ribbon from the beginning was to break a taboo and to draw attention to the importance of early detection, because the earlier a tumor is detected, the higher the chances of cure. With these projects, Pink Ribbon wants to save lives and give courage and confidence to those affected. With the solidarity events, Pink Ribbon has been able to donate over 2.2 million Swiss francs to important breast cancer projects and research in recent years.
