We plant trees

For every 12-pack of Tree Gum sold, we plant a tree!

Why? Well, it's quite simple. We love trees and find it the most sensible way to further strengthen nature. Because not only the basic ingredient of our Tree Gum comes from a tree, but also the rest of the ingredients are all plant-based. Tree Gum is a natural chewing gum without plastic, made exclusively from renewable ingredients. What could be better than planting more trees?

Approach

Let's get started!

Okay, we planted this one tree ourselves. Around the corner from us. But in the future we will do it with a reliable partner: growmytree.com.

Together we have already planted almost 500,000m2 of trees. This is a good start and new trees are added every day.

How does tree planting work?

Our natural & plastic-free chewing gums are CO2 neutral!

There is of course a good reason why we plant a tree for each pack of 12: thanks to the trees we plant, more CO2 is bound than is caused by the production and transport of our natural chewing gums. Yet another reason to buy TREE GUM.

We have carefully selected our partner GROW MY TREE from Berlin. Here are a few important answers about our programme:

Where and how are the trees planted?

Planting a tree through GROW MY TREE means supporting reforestation projects with social benefits. This mission would not be possible without our inspiring partner organisations who do the hard work on the ground!

How does the planting work?

  • The trees are planted in cooperation with our partners in the Global South.
  • In principle, the benefit of a tree for the compensation of CO2 and climate protection is given worldwide, regardless of where emissions are caused and emitted.
  • The trees are first sown in nurseries and grown into seedlings.
  • The seedlings are planted with the support of local smallholders and villagers, generating local employment and income opportunities.
  • The villages protect their new forests out of their own interest.
  • The sustainability of the individual projects is very important to us.

What we look for in project selection

In the reforestation projects we support, we place great emphasis on the content of the projects and the local social conditions. We reduce extreme poverty and restore healthy ecosystems by planting trees in cooperation with our partners.

This is important to us

  • Helping people to help themselves: Generating positive multiplier effects through the creation of long-term training and employment opportunities through cooperation with local smallholders and villagers.
  • Ownership: The planted trees belong to the local communities and not to GROW MY TREE. Thus, a current planting of trees acts as a basis for sustainable income security for the local population.
  • Cultural sensitivity: Cultural traditions and needs of local communities are strictly taken into account.
  • Biodiversity fit: Only native tree species are planted to protect the local flora and fauna and ensure the long-term survival of the trees.
